HP is at it again...

This is an ongoing saga. You call HP CS. You have to answer some robot; then get put on hold. Then someone answers the phone, asks you for all this information, including model # serial # to check your extended agreement (which someone put the wrong date on, but doesn't matter since the printer is the 2nd one received this year from HP because of problems). Then you get transferred to another phone -- ONLY TO HAVE TO ANSWER ALL THESE same QUESTIONS AGAIN!!! Now why do they give you a complaint number? Why do they make you repeat the same thing? Why when it's in the computer and person #2 sees it, do they ask you for your full contact info, serial number, type of machine, etc. etc. all over again?? It's plain dumb!!! This IS A COMPUTER COMPANY!!! and they have a DUMB, customer unfriendly customer dis-service, customer drive us crazy service department.

Until HP fixes its overseas customer service:

Skip their India and Philippines locations... call 650-857-**** (Palo Alto, CA) and explain that their overseas locations are a waste. Or call (877) 917-**** x93 (Ontario, Canada) and just calling back until they connect you with a representative- they'll tell you at first that your case hasn't been "elevated" to their level, but they CAN see your case history in their computers... don't accept their excuses, if you have a real issue.

Call these numbers to speak with people who (might) help you. Even the supervisors in India and the Philippines confess (if you talk to them long enough) that their hands are tied. Now ask yourself this: do you have a real problem or are you a novice user who just needs minor tech help? If you need minor tech help, call their regular numbers. If you have a REAL problem, try the numbers above.

NOISY CPU

we have a hpmc media center7257c. We have had the fan replaced 3 times and we are now going to replace it again. Your computers are junk, and we will never buy another one. Try making them in this country for a change. When they come out to replace the fan, the products are all made outside this country. Are we not qualified to make computes? This is a big inconvenience to have to keep calling repair men to fix the computer. Also, your technical employees have a difficult time understanding English speaking Americans. So please start to hire americans to do your technical support. Americans do need jobs. Gary L. Merkel aagm1973@***.com Hope to get a response.

Right-click on your desktop, select "Properties", then select the Desktop tab. Select any Background and, voila, your icons are no longer on a black background.

Dude, you have no idea what you're talking about, and no clue about computers. You probably messed up the display settings yourself and you probably have a boatload of spyware and adware on the box, that's why it's slow.

HP received the worst support from someone very far away

We purchased a laptop from HP the worst mistake we could of made. When you call for help you get someone in India who does not understand English. It is a cleverly devised web of confusion. They should have a techs that are available mentally and verbally. They do not advertise this fact. We are frustrated to know end, then they said Best Buy (computer geeks) handles their tech. problems, they do not mention it is for another 130.00 dollars. Buy local and receive help, keep the jobs here in the US. We purchased a package for 150.00 that was to include this service, all together spent 1500.00. I would strongly advise anyone against buying and thinking they will receive service.

Technician Coming...sometime this century

I ordered a HP Pavilion a6300t CTO Desktop PC 2/19/2008, online. I paid $601 to have this custom built. This Pavillion a 6300 t is only two weeks old and within an hour of it being on, the CD/DVD holder got stuck in the "open position". The computer is fine, otherwise. Tech support is non existant, performed by Indian labor with a passing knowledge of English, except to read from a script, to promises that the technician, who has been " On his way" to my home for nearly TWO WEEKS, is "still on his way". There are no local HP authorized service place to take my computer to, despite what it says on their website. Today, March 7, I was informed that the part needed is on backordered: 48x max. CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive (48x32x16x48x) I have complained to the CEO, Bill Hurd. I even have a case manager, Raj, whereever the heck HE is, I do not know. What I do know is that I have had nothing but empty promises to cover a repair that should be covered and IS covered under warranty.

Wont replace defective DVD within warranty period

TicketGUID: EE6682E1-944C-40B4-98D1-E9FBC7DE4402 C700 laptop purchased in USA on Dec 20th 2007. S/N CND7512YXB, p/n GF440AV. The DVD writer is defective. The laptop is now in Hissar - India, - and HP have a service centre in Hissar. The service center agrees that the DVD player is defective but wont change it. HP New Delhi office assured replacement and gave a case number 221711**** on March 1st. Yet Hissar service center wont change it. Now even Delhi office says that the complaint should be filed in USA from where a case number to be assigned to the complaint only after which they will look in to it. Do we understand that HP wont look in to situation where a costly part is defective within less then 2 months of purchase and HP will wriggle out of warranty on some false technicality. May I hope that HP will not force litigation on us.

HP LAPTOP ORDERING -HORRIBLE

I ordered a TX100Z customized laptop on Feb 14. Charge denied by HP without explanation (even though I called to find out). Feb 16 same order, same info, processed and went through. Feb 18 I get a call saying HP put a hold on my order. I ask why... no explanation. Feb 19 I call them about and they manually put in my order. It goes through supposedly. Feb 21. I get a call saying my order cannot go through as I ordered it because the coupon is expired. THE COUPON IS EXPIRED! It wasnt when I used it to order on Feb 16. They claim that there are no other coupons online that are equivalent to mine. They tell me I have to pay full price. I refuse. Hang up. I go online and find a WORKING coupon for my amount. They refuse to honor it when I call. I have to reorder online now. Instead of getting built Feb 25 as it was originally, now will be built MARCH 15!. Thanks *** HP, I'll never forget your *** ordering process.

HP is indeed the worse products i have used but now there is a class action suit

I have purchased or received as gifts many Hewlett Packard products. I have 1 desktop, 2 laptop computers, 1 HP all in one printer, scanner and copier and last but not least an HP camera. I have had nothing but problems with them all. I have had problems with every single HP product I have ever owned. Unfortunately many of these products were purchased within months of each other so I didn't know how poorly their customer service was and how poorly these products perform if they even perform at all after the warranty. On a couple of the items they seemed to work fine until right before or after the warranty ran out. On one laptop puchased from Best Buy the whole motherboard needed to be replaced and it was only 3 weeks after the one year warranty expired. I have contacted HP by phone and by email and to this date no one will help me. Please do NOT waste your money with HP products. I will be destroying this items in a video on "You Tube" and "MySpace" so please be on the look out for this video I promise it will be entertaining especially if you are also a consumer who like me has been taken for thousands of dollars on useful products for which you can get no help or customer service. By the way on this past Friday I received a postcard in the mail regarding a class action suit which as began against HP so don't take my word for it you can take a look at this class action suit. If you have purchased HP computers research this class action suit on the internet because you may also have a claim.

Hewlett Packard - Unacceptable Customer Service

I am writing to inform you of the terrible, time wasting experience I had with the so-called “support” service which wasted over 80 minutes of my valuable time on Thursday, 2/14/08, and over 90 minutes of my valuable time on Saturday, 2/16/08. The “support” representatives repeatedly asked for my street address, which I provided at the time I registered my Compaq and the extended warranty. They also had me go through multitudes of repetitious entry-level troubleshooting routines, despite my attempts to explain that we had determined the problem was hardware related. I was then placed on hold for over 20 minutes before someone relented and agreed to send a box for me to ship my laptop back the HP for repair. Naturally, based on the incompetence of the individuals I spoke with on the phone, I have ZERO confidence that my laptop will be repaired properly. Unfortunately, sending the laptop back to HP is my only option at this time. The next time I am in the market for a new computer, I will most definitely choose a brand other than HP due to the gross incompetence of the service staff. Boy can I relate to the agonizing waste of time with the laborious entry-level “troubleshooting” from HP’s so-called tech support line. It sounds like I was more fortunate than many victims of HP. When we were trying to purchase a new printer/scanner, we first tried an HP from Office Depot. Fortunately it was junk right out of the box. After HP’s “help line” in India eventually determined the obvious that it was a hardware problem, I packed it back up and returned it to OD the next day. Thinking one bad printer was a possible fluke, I took a slight HP upgrade home and went through the same time-wasting process a second night in a row. By the time I took the second piece of junk back to OD, they did provide a full refund but were far from gracious about it--as if I made a hobby of buying, hooking up, and returning electronic equipment.

At the risk of sounding xenophobic, besides the apparent lack of knowledge of the product, the language barrier that obviously went in both directions was clearly apparent only creating more frustration and time consumption. At least if HP is going to outsource their tech support, they shouldn’t insult our intelligence by having the two I spoke with go by names like Bob and Steve.

We eventually purchased a Cannon from Staples and it has worked like a charm so far. And their tech support is reportedly in Oklahoma, a language I understand since my parents were from there.

I bought a Hp care pack #U4821 A It says that it is a 3 day turn around That Hp picks up and returns . To me that means that I would be without my computer for 3 days.

It has now been a month and they called and said it would be another 2 weeks. They blamed it on parts shortage but many blogs on the net tell the same story since last year. I don’t think there is a shortage except for people to fix them.

DON’T BUY A HP IF YOU want good service. Buyer beware.

I will never buy HP again. My HP Pavilion had a major hard disk crash after 13 months. There is only a 12 months warrenty. When I contacted HP their solution was for me to purchase another computer at full price, and they would pay for shipping. Needless to say, I rejected the offer. I have since learned that if I had purchased the hard disk separately there would have been a 5 year warranty.

I e-mail the president of HP Canada and received an e-mail saying that my e-mail would be sent to the appropriate person. I guess the appropriate person has decided I don't get a response. I e-mailed again, and again, no response.

It is not only the hard disk crashing that bothers me, but I have also lost the pre-installed software. This would cost HP nothing to replace, but all I get is silence. BTW, I e-mailed HP on an 11 year-old Dell. My conclustion is you can measure the life span of Dells in years, and HPs in months. In addition to the computer that crashed, I own 2 HP printers, 2 cameras and another HP computer. These will be the last HP any thing I buy.

I am considering legal action. At least that would get their attention.

HP has become a little dumb.

I just spoke with an HP support rep. I have printed about 40 pages with my printer. This is what she said, Jerri: Host cartridges has less ink, they are only to initialize the printer. Okay, a 50 dollar printer does not come with ink. The ink costs 27.00 to 30.00 bucks to replace. I assume HP has began not labeling the product as not coming with ink. So given this mislabeling they can appear to be less expensive and get business. The consumer is stuck with a choice to buy another printer for someone other than HP or be robbed by them. It is your choice to decide.

HP nightmare - DON'T BUY AN HP NOTEBOOK

After shelling out the $1,000 =/- a year ago for an HP notebook, I was *** enough to purchase what was touted as the BEST sevice plan possible for $469.00. Four years, replacement if I drop & break it, free shipping to and from repair facility, yada yada... 9 months after I bought it, I had several problems. Spent 2 days with techs from India who made me SPELL everything I said to them, and no resolution. I finally mailed it in to be fixed. A week later it arrives back. One issue fixed, the other two not. Another 2 wasted days with Tech Supprort and again my notebook gets mailed back. A week goes by, and nothing - not even an email confirming receipt. I call and "MUMBA" tells me they are waiting on the part. I asked her why the automated website says I still haven't returned the notebook to them yet. She then tells me after looking into it, it appears I haven't returned the notebook. UGH!! I ask for a supervisor and am given a number to call. I call and instead of a supervisor I get "RAHUL" who tells me I need to return the notebook to them for repairs. I am about ready to rip this guy a new one except I can't afford the airfare to India! I have a copy of the FEDEX receipt proving it was mailed, and received by C. GAMBO for God's sake. Finally I get a supervisor who tells me he will locate the notebook and get back to me the next morning. Next day comes and no call but at 5:00 a Fedex box arrives. AN EMPTY NOTEBOOK BOX to return my notebook to them - you know the one they already have! Over the next three days I call the supervisor, Nick using the "direct" line he gave me, and each time I'm automatically routed to the "next available tech"... He never returns a call. I ask for HIS supervisor and am told he doesn't have one. Finally he calls saying it is being repaired and will arrive back in another week. RIght smack in the middle of a business trip where I am supposed to be using this notebook. I ask him if it can shipped to me at the address where I'll be staying and am told that since 9/11 they can't reroute the packages. What a mess. THEIR SERVICE PLAN STINKS! I WANT MY NOTEBOOK and there is nothing I can do to get them remotely motivated!

Someday soon I'll post my whole story to the Internet. I have pages upon pages of notes- over the last two and a half months, I have had a HORRIFIC experience with HP Customer Service.

Bottom line, however, is that the LCD on my Pavilion laptop failed. Took forever (and nearly 50 or 60 phone calls) to get it sent in to a repair facility. After mind-numbing headaches, I thought the problem was solved. Not so: HP declares that its not the LCD's problems weren't their problem, and that I had somehow caused a mysterious problem myself.

No warranty coverage, despite my meticulous care of the laptop. HP doesn't honor its warranties - and pushes repair costs off on the customer. My story isn't an isolated case - remember, this took upwards of 7-8 hours ON THE PHONE to even get to THIS point. I spoke with both their locations in India, their location outside Manila, their Ontario location, and their Palo Alto location.

I'm a professional with degrees in computer engineer, and I'll never by an HP product again.

Their large size has convinced the corporate executives that they can shave costs with poor customer service. Don't be a victim, avoid HP until they reinvest in their customer service.

I purcha,ed a hp notebook in jan 07, jan 08 lcd screen goes out but falls in my extended plan from sams so got it fixed took about 3 weeks but they fixed it, last week I started having problems with the laptop not turning on. I went to the HP website and turns out they basicaly were recalling several laptop model's ( mine included ) to fix several problems.

I called but of course they would only fix it if it was less than 2 years old. I complained and said I was not told about recall even thou I had registered the laptop and received several updates over the 2 yr's. To no avail they will not fix what they knew was a manufacturer error.

I can't believe that with the jobless rate in the USA ( 10% and climbing ) that HP cant keep these phone jobs in the USA. I will never buy a HP product again and intend to tell everyone I know about thier underhanded dealings!

HP530 Laptops

Bought an HP 530 laptop and on the second day got complaint in the display panel. In one moth use, got complaint in Keyboard and battery. The perfomance is also worst. I feel HP should withdraw this product. All the major components of the laptop is having complaint. The battery problem happed after 2 months of use. If you check the key board of this well known product you will be unable to find @ key. Dont know how these products are passing quality tests. in two months use the one key came out of key board. Posting this review because I am worsly affected due to this product.

HP Hires Idiots for customer service

I purchased two HP OfficeJet Pro all-in-one printers L 7780. they operate in two different locations, with two different telephone companies. both printers do not receive all the faxes and give error messages. One of the printers was a replacement for another printer that was faxing for over two years, and the other printer is in a brand-new building. HP sent 3 test faxes and only two came through. their fax machine does not record failed faxes so they said to faxes went through and therefore everything is okay. I asked for the supervisor, he then blamed the telephone company and rushed me off the phone. beware of the quality of these machines and do not count on any credible customer service.
