If you are considering the snazzy HP Touchsmart all in one computer, DON'T DO IT!!! I purchased mine in January 2010 and within three months it was crashing to blue screen repeatedly.

After 12 Phonecalls to tech support in INDIA, after being left on hold for hours at a time (I am not exagerating...) and after sending my computer back for bench repair, the problem has not been solved and my warranty expires TODAY. The techs I spoke to were not knowledgable, had difficulty commincating with me,and refused to even read my entire help ticket because they were simply too busy. Every single time I called tech support they made me start at the begining of diagnostics to the extent that I re-seated my memory chips myself three times. HP tech support basically uses stall tactics until your original warranty expires and then tries to sell you an extended warranty by threatening you that they will no longer accept your calls.

HP released this product prematurely to keep up with the Jones, and packaged the system with Windows 7. The OS is incompatible with the touch screen environment. Further, it seems that countless other consumers are having the same problem. HP cannot solve the problem and should be issuing refunds on these poorly engineered units that come close to costing $1,000 bucks.

One blogger even had his Touchsmart replaced under warranty and had the SAME Problem with his brand new replacement computer.

I say American shoulod BOYCOTT HP until they bring Tech support back into the United States. And SHAME on HP for knowingly selling a defective product to the Americans who pay their salaries.

I had the same as all of you but I did not give up after spending all that money so I install a better hard drive and only using one pci slot for my ram, which I got a 4gb ram module, the upper slot was giving me trouble so I'm only using the bottom one and after lots of stress and head trauma I got it to work just fine and has been for the last months. :) :p :eek :grin :x :? :upset :roll 8) :)

how many people have to complain about the same product before anything is done about it. i think Hp and any place that sells defective products should be held accountable.

they all profit from it.

Totally agree with all your comments. We continue to have the fan run make loud sounds and shut down.

I just had the exact same experience as Pryornina. My Hp Touchsmart began to freeze up and crash at 10 months of use.

I too was made to waste hours of my time, day after day with troubleshooting calls to HP tech support in India. They even had me opening up the computer and taking out memory cards and the hard drive. After repeated calls they finally agreed to take my computer and told me it would take weeks to repair unless I paid them a $50 fee to expedite the repairs! I refused!

They replaced the hard drive and only warrantied the repair for 90 days - that shows you how much confidence they have in their product! Just before the end of my repair warranty my computer started to freeze up and crash again. I called HP and requested repair before my warranty ran out. I was told not to worry about the warranty running out because I had called with the same issue before warranty expiration.

They refused to take the computer and pushed my past my warranty end with troubleshooting. When the computer completely failed I called HP back and requested that they pick the computer up for repair, I relayed what the last tech had told me. I was told "sorry, there's nothing we can do, you're out of warranty". Don't listen to the techs, they will lie to you just to get you off of the phone!

I complained until they escalated my call, again all I got was "sorry, you're out of warranty", I continued to complain and was offered $150 off of the repair, and then today 50% off of the repair that they say will cost $300-$400, that's a lot of money for a repair that only "fixes" the computer for a few months. This defect in my computer is recurrent because it was never fixed. I refuse to pay one dime to HP to fix a problem that exists not only in my computer but in many others - read the HP forums you'll find similar stories! HP knows that there is a problem with these computers, they may not know how to fix it, but they need to stop selling these computers until they can figure it out.

I'd rather trash this piece of junk than give them another penny! Someone needs to start a class-action law suit to get them to stop! I have lost all faith in HP products and their ability to provide customer service.

Dealing with HP was a horrible experience. I spent a lot of money for a computer that I only got 10 months of use out of.

I purchased the HP touch smart 310 series on 1/28/2011 from wal-mart. The computer began to shut down on 2/7/2011 and display a blue screen.

I contacted Hp tech support, and they began a series out trouble shooting task on 2/7/2011. The problem seems to be fixed for a while until the blue error screen showed up and the computer shut down again on 3/14/2011. I then contacted HP again and they sent me out 7 recovery disk on 3/18/2011. I went through the different steps with the disk after I receive them, and again the problem seem to be fixed, until a day or so later when the computer shut down again.

On 3/24/2011 HP shipped me out shipping boxes so the desktop can be serviced. HP received the product on 4/1/2011, and began to repair the computer this same day. I then received an email stating that the product had been repair (hard-drive re-placement). I got my computer back on 4/5/2011.

The computer was working fine until 4/17/2011 and then again the computer shut down and displayed a blue screen.

I contacted tech support again and they stated that I would not receive a replacement computer and all they can do for me is repairing it again. I would either like my money back or a new computer seeing this computer is NOT a good one and I feel like I have been ripped off for $900.00, and Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm not a happy customer.I FEEL YOUR PAIN HP TPUCHSMARTS SUCK AND PLEASE DONT BUY
